Sport
Tranmoor Primary school, and all members of staff, are committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of our pupils through embedding Physical Activity throughout our school day. We have adopted the ‘Creating Active Schools Framework’ to support the implementation of a blend of physically active learning opportunities across the curriculum, active breaks during the school day (ensuring no child is sedentary for longer than 45 minutes) and a varied extra-curricular offering spread before, across and after school that caters for the interests and motivations of our pupils and staff.
A HUGE ‘well done’ to our incredible Year 6 footballers who represented the school with such pride and enthusiasm at the Eco-Power. Sadly, we finished third, narrowly missing out on reaching the knock-out round.
Girls football match against Southfield. We may have lost the match 1-0, but we are so proud of every one of them for how hard they worked, the respect they showed and the way they worked as a team. For most, these two matches have been the first time that they’ve played competitively. A HUGE well done!
Well done to the Year 6 boys’ football team on their dramatic win. The match was a tight 1-1 draw, which we later won 2-1 on penalties!
Sports Premium Overview
Vision Statement: Inspire Empower Achieve
At Tranmoor Primary School we believe Physical Education (PE) and Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people's lives for the better.
Through PE and Sport our children learn to develop the important qualities of discipline, resilience, communication, teamwork and ambition, leading to improved concentration, attitude and academic achievement.
We have welcomed the Government's announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding for two years to improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high-quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting and clubs for all our young people.
What does the Sports Premium mean for our School?
"Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and Sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this"(DfE June 2013).
